    Buying a Suburban - 6.5l vs Vortec

I had a '99 Vortec 'Burb and I really didn't like it much. It was easy to start in all weather conditions but was terrible on gas on the highway and had no power at all compared to my 6.5l. I have a small enclosed trailer for my bike and I could definatly feel it behind me in the gasser, it...

Opinion - The 6.5 Diesel Suburban is the greatest vehicle ever made. Discuss.

    What's better than a 6.5 Sub??? A 6.5 Sub with full leather and a 5 speed! :) I love my truck. Bill

    1995 Silverado door panels/speakers

The speakers don't have screws holding them, they have a metal clip and a plastic hook. You basicly just pull on them at the clip and then swing them away from the door to get them out. Of the 4 I've done, 3 came out easy, the fourth didn't want to come out and I ended up having to pry on it...

    5 spd + Cruise control???

My cruise works and will kick off if the clutch is depressed, but I don't need to push it in to start. I've never looked, but there is either 2 switches or more likely, the PO didn't wire in the clutch safety switch to the starting circut. LOL Bill

    Remote Oil Filter Mount

I just found out that my 3" body lift makes oil changes VERY easy. LOL I was able to reach in from the wheel well and spin the filter right off with no trouble at all! :) Bill

    Clutch problems, advice needed!

On mine the ends were fitted with rubber seals and a roll pin to hold it all together. I was thinking of doing up a new one until I saw that. :( Bill

    Clutch problems, advice needed!

!!!!!!! So, I drove it to town today to do some Christmas shopping. I decided to try and get it into a shop just for fun. I gave them the rundown and they brought the truck in to bleed it. Guy comes out 20 minutes later and says they can't bleed it any better than I did. He figures...

    Clutch problems, advice needed!

I've tried to gravity bleed it and fluid will pour out at a very rapid rate so there isn't a problem with anything blocking any holes. The pedal comes all the way up every time, so that isn't the problem. I hate like hell to remove this tranny again to inspect the piviot fork and ball, but it...

    Clutch problems, advice needed!

There were no instructions on how to bleed the master. I simply mounted it and filled it and fluid poured out the bottom, then I installed the factory line. This is really frusterating. I tried to drive it today and had to start in gear all the time. It's not getting better on it's own...

    Clutch problems, advice needed!

I did the same thing with using the slave cylinder rod to bleed the system. I drove the truck tonight and pumped the heck outta it to get it into gear then was able to shift up and down until I stopped for a few minutes at the store then I had to do the pumping thing all over again. I'm gonna...

    Clutch problems, advice needed!

The line has these stupid fittings on the end. They aren't threaded, they slip into the master and slave and a roll pin holds them in there. I was out doing some other things to the truck and just for fun I pumped the pedal about a thousand times and got about half of my clutch back. I...

I never saw any fluid loss at all. SmithvilleD, your experience sounds EXACTLY like mine. I'm going to go out there today and see if I can see a leak in the line... I might just buy the new line for fun now that everything ELSE is new. LOL Thanks everyone, I'll post up my success or...
