    Exhaust smoke

Smells more like oil to me. I did the valve cover gaskets last month and I noticed that the intake was pretty oily, so hopefully changing out the cdr valve will help. Sent from my LG-D801 using Tapatalk

    Exhaust smoke

Thanks for the input, any ideas on how to troubleshoot? What would you do first? The guy I bought it from 2 years ago said it had new Bosch injectors.

    Exhaust smoke

Hey everyone, So I've been having a problem with this truck smoking a lot when starting it up after it has run and sat for an hour or so. I originally thought that it was just because it needed a little heat from the glow plugs, but since the relay was bad it wouldn't kick on when it needed...

    Peninsular high flow water pump

Well, got the snapped bolt drilled out. The guys at the shop ordered some better bolts for me from the dealer, apparently this was a big issue back in the day and these bolts helped fix the issue. Hopefully they'll do the trick. At any rate, I rented a car for the week so I can get my oil cooler...

    Peninsular high flow water pump

It actually starts pretty quickly now; however, I had to crank it quite a bit during the winter to get it started until I went through and replaced the whole glow plug system. Sent from my LG-D801 using Tapatalk

    Peninsular high flow water pump

Unfortunately my truck just ate another starter bolt, this time with the bracket on. When I bought it it had no bracket, and I didn't know this until it snapped a bolt. This time it shouldn't have happened, I think I may have reused one of the bolts, which may have been weakened already. I'll...

    Peninsular high flow water pump

I want to go at least that far down the rabbit hole :P I realise that mileage may suffer a bit, but being in Utah it's already down because of the altitude. I'd like to be able to go up hills faster than loaded semis. I drive out to MN at least once a year and getting over the mountains is a...

    Peninsular high flow water pump

Good to know, so it's not a concern until I turbo it then. I'm planning on getting a banks kit in about a year or so. Still debating on whether I want to piece one together or buy a new one. A new one would be nice, but it just depends on how my wallet feels in a year. I don't mind putting...

    Peninsular high flow water pump

I'm just gathering info for my future build. Right now I'm mostly trying to get it to stop pissing oil all over the place. I just recently replaced the radiator and finally have no cooling issues (though I still want to replace the fan clutch). I haven't tested it on any big hills yet though...

    Peninsular high flow water pump

I've been thinking about upgrading my cooling and I figure it would cost less to buy this pump than to upgrade to a serpentine belt system and buy the 2000 model HO water pump. Anyone on here running one of these? If so how is it working for you? Doing the serpentine belt conversion might gain...

So many radiators, so little time

So the HO water pump is just a later model 6.5 one then? Does it require any modification to work with a 6.2?

So many radiators, so little time

So after searching around I think the best options are Spectra or Vistapro Spectra: http://www.summitracing.com/search/year/1990/make/chevrolet/model/v1500-suburban/department/cooling-heating/part-type/radiators/engine-size/6-2l-379/product-line/spectra-premium-radiators?autoview=SKU...

So many radiators, so little time

Do you have a thread you could point me to about the water pump mod? Tried a few searches and didn't really find what I was looking for.

So many radiators, so little time

I was hoping that there was a consensus among 6.2 owners as to which radiators are good, bad, etc. My truck has about 200k on it, so I guess the original radiator lasted a decent amount of time, but even before it started leaking the engine would get pretty warm driving up the hills here in...
