I need to clarify that I have a 1992 12v in my truck with the VE rotary pump currently putting out 160hp. Make no mistake, when I am done, it will kick any 6.5's ass, but until it warms up, it will stay stock.
I can do that, maybe once it warms up a bit. I doesn't quite have the snap the 6.5 did, but you can sure tell it won't quite as fast. Can't wait to tow something.

Well, I finally got all my transmission issues figured out, now it is just a matter of tuning in the shift points. Nice to have my truck fully functional again. It sure pulls hard in OD lockup, nice to see 30PSI boost. Cheers,
Mike
Well, nothing ever goes as easily as you hope it would. I bought this TCI trans control unit or TCU. I got it brand new with wiring for 500$. Now I know why! I knew it was the earlier model, but what I didn't know was it needs to have a tach signal from a distributor type engine and diesels...
For 2000$ it's hard to go wrong even just for the motor and trans. Not a dodge guys either, but there's nothing wrong with a cummins. With that few miles, it should be good. I would take a chance if I had the cash.
I don't know about low gear, but it reads accurate for high gear. For myself, I don't think knowing my speed in low gear is an issue. You are probably right though.
Thanks for all the compliments!
ME TOO! When I measured it first thing with the fan, it was only 2.5 inches longer than the 6.5. The kicker is the intercooler. If I had gone without it, I would have had loads of space. It runs fantastic! Starts amazing. My neighbours are diesel nuts too, so no piss offs ......... yet!):h
I have a TCU from TCI which I am having a bit of trouble getting to work right now. I wanted it programmable so I could change TCC lockup and shift point etc. Hopefully today I can get it shifting past 2nd gear. Other than that everything is working great!
