I might consider a turbo but I think at this point that would be a lot of money to be invested?, I just spent $4,000 on the transmission rebuild. but you reminded me that some 6.0 engines came with a turbo from factory I think I would definitely do that. Vortech supercharger I think it was...
My engine recently took a dump, cam went out and heads are bad leaky, just had the 4L80E fresh rebuilt. planning on getting a btr truck cam stage 2 but I need to know if I should rebuild these cathedral heads 317, plan is to use the truck for towing. I have a guy who will do a custom tune but...

This a new issue from my last old thread when I had the transmission rebuilt and was having issues with no/ or low oil psi, and overheating. I put about almost 24k miles since. That is until recently I was hauling a Lincoln town car lowrider driving back home from Ontario, California.
I got off...
The engine size is 6.0L LQ4. Transmission is 4L80E
I plan on waiting for the business to get consistent work or guarantee contracts with local companys then go buy a 3/4 ton cummins/duramax. My friend has a ram 3500 cummins, he will let me borrow when i need it
I’m planning on bumping up the gear ratios on my 1500HD i believe it has 3.73 gears and limited slip.
The reason for this is because it is sitting on a 6in rough country lift and 20x12 on 33x12.50R20.
It lacks power of course, I’m finally ready for this upgrade, as i have gotten my...
Kinda hard to tell looks like they had repainted the torque converter similar to the color it was when I brought it brand new... I just got home stopped by friends shop to talk to him

he told...
I didn't do that didn't think of it, but I marked my initials on the TC and got it back with my initials on it, the trans looks the same color as i got it in the first place I don't suspect that they swapped it.
@Will L.
I would name the shop but the connection to this transmission builder is through a diesel mechanic friend of mines. He told me "His guy is good never had issues with him"
I asked my friend the other day what's the name of his shop and he told me he doesn't work for anyone he does it...
So i went ahead and double checked that it had trans fluid at the proper level today for 10mins before leaving to class. I went through the gears then back in park. Added a quart and half or so while idling. and its right below the Hot level mark the second from the bottom. I put it back in...
Heres an update I got my transmission fully installed today poured in a gallon of trans fluid is all it took so that tells me the transmission guy didn't full take it apart to see what was the issue with my transmission
I started it up and watch my pressure gauge slowly go up to about 55psi...
Gave Jake's Performance a call they told me that the "sweet spot" is 0.160. So I'm good now. I guess this thread can be helpful for others wondering what to do. they told me if it were to be more than 3/16 of a inch they put flat washers about 0.040/0.060 thick washers between the converter...
