You ever have one of those DUH moments? there's a tiny plunger that goes in the dump valve that was sitting in the bottom of my drain pan. problem solved. thanks for all the help.

Just a rubber seal, I doubt that is the problem.

I'm not going to say it's impossible that something's in backwards, but there's really not much to put in backwards, except maybe the spool valve, which I'm sure is in correctly.

I've had it apart and back together again 3 times now... all parts are correctly assembled, I am at least sure of that much. I have an exploded diagram that came with my rebuild kit. I will try cracking a line though that sounds like a good idea.
