David,
Buy or borrow one of the coolant system pressure testers. (Autozone used to have it as a "rentable" tool. I bought mine after the first use.) It is awesome. I have located many of the small leaks with it. It allows pressurizing of the coolant system while the engine is cold...
LoL!!!
I totally understand... It is nice to have it done, but it was almost surreal when the wife asked why the 'burb was still in the shop for an oil change and ps pump fix.... Dear, the transfer case is on the floor...
all in all not too bad. We went ahead and changed the tranny fluid...
Gnel,
I Just replaced that seal on my '94 gasser (4l60 and NP 241C). We were doing a routine fluid check and oil change, Tcase POURED from the fill hole. Jamie goes "let's jerk i t out" Haggar is going "top off tranny and wait for warmer weather...." But Jamie was right. So we did...
Dennis,
Sorry, but the description is going to get a bit complicated. I am not surprised that the local dealers don't have a clue, it is an engineering issue, not much that a mechanic would notice or be able to fix.
It sounds like you have thoroughly removed any consideration of an absolute...
Absolutely,
Climb underneath and feel the lines. Since you had "some" heat, it has to be a flow problem. (Ok, possibly not, if you were in defrost where the AC compressor was operating, it could be a blend door, but since you didn't notice it "freezing cold" before you high idled, I would...
Proth,
Excellent!! As I was writing that I was looking on compnine and noticed they did not have part numbers for some of the switches. Glad you found the number!
Have a great one!

Proth,
my '94 Suburbasaurus, has a separate switch below the headlight switch (it is a horizontal toggle called dome lamp or cargo lamp or something.) that turns out the interior lights irrelevant of any of the doors position. I can still turn the dial to make them come on with all...
Woody,
On the Suburban chassis/interior for '97, open glove box. There is a stop on the Right hand side, press the side of the glove box in to clear the stop. The glove box will rock out further. You can then slip the U- shaped hooks off the bottom shafts (there are 2 IIRC). There is also a...
Dave,
This is too cool! I am looking for a CC right now. I had a '78 Nautique wish I never sold it...... I really want a Fish Nautique. They are hard to find. (may end up with a Shamrock...)
You will just have to jump over the engine cover I think. Just looking at my gasser...
Rodd,
I saw that too on muscle car. In the old days, the tank sealants pretty much sucked. They would soften in the presence of alcohol. (had to pull the heads on my father-in-laws 37 LaSalle as the gummy residue had stuck the valves.....) I think I would certainly ask about the chemical...
NoDak,
On my friend's 1997 K1500 Suburban, the restriction for the heater system is not in the T's. It is in the quick connect fitting in the dual thermostat housing. The Tees were the same. I have not measured the actual line size to the rear heat exchanger, but the lines at the back of...
Welcome all!
