good info there, thanks nick! i have only heard 4's on dmax's so i didnt have anything to compare to. and it will be catless either way and probably straight piped to begin with, if its too loud i can always get a muffler later.
thanks for the replys guys,
any particular reason? i like the idea of the lower tone of the 5" cause really dmax's dont sound all that great to begin with, especially compared to a straight piped or stacked cummins.
anybody ever seen, installed or have a Hooker exhaust system on their dmax? i didnt even know they made them till this morning but i found one for a really good price. most systems for the dmax seem to be about the same but was just wondering if anybody had any experience with them.

your bro in law is definetly wrong on that one. how does he think it will throw a code if theres no O2 sensor on the cat to tell the computer that its not there? and as far as doing all that work to the stock cat pipe my suggestion would be to find a front pipe from a fed LB7 and just switch...
i have it too once in a while. i remember the guy i bought it from saying it drove him nuts but after i put the lift on it seemed to just about go away. maybe more air going under the truck instead, dont really know but it only seems to do it now when im going just the right speed and the wind...

thanks dura!
well shes back up an running!! i had my buddy scan it on the tech II and he couldnt get any communication with the ECM so he thought it may have gotten fried, OH SHIT! so i called Dan at PPE and he gave me a couple ideas to try, tune it with the fuses pulled, disconnect...
oh really? i have a friend thats a tech at the chevy dealer near me, i might be able to get it to him later tonight and have him reflash it if that will fix it.
it still shows the tuning as level 9 but when it goes to check the vin it gets hung up and says OPS #'s dont match, then it asks if i want to load the stock tune anyways but it still wont do it, think that means it cant read my truck?
nope, havent been able to get the stock program to load, it keeps asking if i want to return it to stock but then it starts to load and comes up with the error and wont go any further.
