Are your brakes grabbing at the slightest touch of the brake pedal?
This is a common problem with the organic brake shoes that are on most of our trucks. If you ride the brakes lightly as you first start out it will drive off the moisture in the lining. I have to be careful that I heat my...
The extended cab 3rd door was only on the passenger side in the GMT400 (88-98) body style, and it never came with the extended cab 4 door. GMT800 99-06 had extended cab 4 door models. I can not find the gasser only reference now but I have yet to see a 3 door diesel.
3 Door diesel?
From my research the 3 door extended cab started in 1996. It was only available in 1/2 ton gas trucks. I can not see the 3rd door seam and in a white truck you should be able too, even with the poor quality pic. Beware of a scam!!
That said I have been looking around for...
IGN A is shown as a 40 A MAXI fuse in the 95 manual. My 95 has a 40 there. Check the inside of the cover to see what the recommended fuse size is listed as.
IGN A feeds part of the ignition switch, the circuits below are powered depending on the ignition switch position.

Bleeding the hydraulic booster is easy. Fill the power steering pump reservoir and keep it full. Start the engine. Rotate the steering wheel from stop to stop while depressing the brake pedal repeatedly.
A "new" unit...
Your power piston seal is leaking. There is a drain hole between the hydraulic booster and the master cylinder. If you check where the pedal rod enters the housing the input rod seals are most likely also leaking. MBM makes a repair kit $40 - $65 plus freight. It is worthless if you have a...
Our stock top load filter manager is at the end of this attachment. It looks like these filter managers were introduced a while back. The bottom load would be nice for the junk that settles out in the bottom of the stock filter manager. The drawback is purging air after the filter change. I...
I just know how my 95 works from diagnosing LP problems in the past. The schematic is from the 1995 factory service manuals that you can order from Helm. IIRC SIR is "Supplemental Inflatable Restraint" - airbags, which I do not have. I have a tech II and it can turn the LP on and off through the...
D2, Pin G is referred to all the time but my 95 is pin F like the manual. You can see how the LP is powered through the relay during crank and then through the OPS after the oil pressure builds. Put a volt meter on pin F and look for 12V during crank, if 0V than check fuse and relay. If 0V while...
1995 lift pump problems
D2 Cat check pin F on the DLC. On my 95 this is the correct pin for the LP.
See the attached pic from the 95 Helm manual.
I can power the LP by jumpering 12V to pin F.
Filter Top Pressure Tap
My version from 2006.
I had never removed the filter manager and thought that the outside of the filter, with the dirt and the drain, was the inlet side. I was surprised when TD did "Feed the Beast" and learned that the bleed is on the inlet side.
The pressure at...
Fuel Gauge Option
You could consider SPA Design dual digital gauges, if you can spend the $$$. I did not want six separate gauges. I tested locating two dual digital gauges here.
Running at night.
They have red or green (selectable) or blue illumination and you can adjust the brightness. The...
Passenger side knocking is common from air in lines. You can not bleed the injectors with the turbo in the way. Good thing is it tends to work its self out. Knocking is also caused by injector lines touching valve covers, heater coolant line and any other metal parts.
Keep an eye on the fuel...
