Started diesels with a 1983 Chevy 1500 Suburban, 6.2 went through 2 injector pumps and 360,000 before I let it go.
Got the 1995 GMC Sierra 1500 from pa-in-law at 110,000 and on 2nd pump with it. I got most of the mods I have put on from Walt at SS Diesel and haven't really had any problems with them, Marine injectors, new heads and bolts, new vacuum pump, solenoids, upgrade chip, (from Westers) and I got a PMD relocation kit from Kennedy and put it on the inner fender well. New A arms on the front end, air shocks on the back to help hold up the trailer tongue weight I carry to festivals with Hit & Miss engines on it. Put new Delco oil pressure switch on and it failed with two weeks left on the one year warranty!!! Put a BWP back in its place! Had issue with truck going into limp mode and triggering codes,17, 18, & 35, when I changed the last pump I got from Walt, after several emails, he said Stanadyne was confident it wasn't the pump and finally a ex GM mechanic friend of mine pulled the extension lead from the optical sensor and so far problem is gone!!, after almost 2 years of frustration! I retired in January and don't drive it as much, so far so good!!
