As I said it is not throwing any codes.

    4L80e goes into limp mode

I just bought a 2000 K2500 Classic with the 454 and 4L80e. After a few months the tranny acts like it is going into limp mode. It has only happened running on long trips and I can not make it happen on command, it seems random. When pulling a steep hill sometimes it will downshift and not go...

    half ton axles?

On another note, I've seen K1500 Suburbans for sale around here that have 8 lug axles/wheels. Almost every one, if not every single one.

    Start & die

Passlock Learn Proceedure from 1998 C/K Service manual. I guess it carries over to the 2000 Classics: 1. Attempt to start the vehicle (will start & stall), after engine stalled leave the ignition ON for 10 minutes (the secuirity light will remain ON for 10 minutes and go OFF). 2. After the...

MARVEL MYSTERY OIL anyone run it in their truck?

I wonder what sooted/sheared oil would do in combination with being thinned out with MMO. I still doubt it would wear bearings out that fast though. If your talking about down there in Chapel Hill, NC that makes a small world.

MARVEL MYSTERY OIL anyone run it in their truck?

One thing I always heard was to pour some oil into a new turbo before you crank/run it. Maybe that didn't get done?

MARVEL MYSTERY OIL anyone run it in their truck?

Thats cool. The most I have ever used it for is to soak the pistons/rings in the mid 90's saturn motors to help with the oil consumption. I don't understand the theory behind it, but it does work for a while. The last one was burning oil so bad that the MMO would drain past the pistons into...

MARVEL MYSTERY OIL anyone run it in their truck?

No it don't. One reason I didn't put it in till the oil change was comin' up. Definatley not saying it wern't the culprit, just it didn't kill mine for those few miles.

MARVEL MYSTERY OIL anyone run it in their truck?

I had a lifter gummed up one time making a noise so I ran some through the truck for 100 or so miles, but then I changed the oil right after it cleared up. That was a few thousand miles ago and the GM-X is still running. IDK much about turbos and such, but I ain't never had lubricating trouble...

How much school learning you got?

Just got done with my BS in Civil Engineering yesterday. Hopefully I will get good news soon about passing my EIT certification. Supposed to be taking the Fundimentals of Surveying exam this fall too.

    oil filter: which one?

I've compared the 6.5L and DMAX Wix/NAPA Gold filters in store and they are almost exactly the same size also. Plus I have bought them off of ebay in the master packs for a little cheaper than I could have gotten them around here. Being out of the states it might be worth looking into that. Just...

    oil filter: which one?

I usually use Wix for everything, or NAPA Gold...same thing. I am going to start running Amsoil on my next oil change.

    EGT Probe Placement

I put mine in the turbo right past where it bolts to the exhaust manifold. Seemed easier and safer since I already had the turbo off.

    NAPA Starters

IDK what the 2 people before me did to the truck cranking wise. The ACDelco that was on it says its a reman. I've got fresh injectors in it and duraterms so it cranks for me quicker than my 350's, atleast now that the weather is warm.

    NAPA Starters

Yeah, If I do anything electrical (like the starter) I like to unhook the negative terminals. I'm Graduating this Saturday and will hopefully have a full-time job and some money to throw around starting in June... Needless to say I have a lot of projects to work on. As a daily driver I'd like...
