How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

I've got a bunch of nos Bosch injectors, new not rebuilt, military surplus. If you haven't bought a set yet I'll donate a set to you... I'm a AF vet so call it paying it forward if needed...
Is that offer still on the table 😭

I really thought about it, since I have my friend driving it while im on Leave and its just....yeah even he sees it needs a new set badly, what are the chances you have a set for a 1985 block? My motor has the ATS Turbo Kit though

Im assuming the injectors are the same across the board, Turbo kit or not? Unless others here can chime in

Please let me know, thank you again.

You might send a PM or you can use the @ and start typing his screen name and it will tag him. like this... @nycxjeremyy
folks see it faster.

post a pic of one of the injectors on the drivers side (easiest to get a close up of. I will look at my stash and see if I have both types one style is a long body the other is a shorter one. there should also be a number stamped on the outside of the body if you can get at it without removing.

others will chime in with a better way to see which one you have.

Ill have my boy send flicks, currently on leave back home so im away from the 6.2

removing an injector you need a special socket, a regular 30mm socket can possibly bend or break the return line connections. I have used a regular socket multiple times without an issue but you have to be very careful. they are torqued into the head at 50ft lbs. I will try and remember to get a pic of both injectors along with a measurement reference for them in the head. I have an older block on the stand at home I can measure the height from the head to the body nut. I meant to do this last night and forgot!

Attention fellas and fellets! Injector class is now in session..... 🤣

Here is the visual differences between the non-turbo 6.2L aka: tall body injectors and the turbo 6.5L aka: short body injectors.

I took some pics of the two side by side along with a couple of pics of the short body injectors that are installed in the block I have on the stand. the pic of the engine are of the #1 cylinder so it should be the easiest to get to while in the power barn!

Class dismissed HAHA!!!

Here are more pics. these are the short body injectors, take note of my index finger barley under the body nut against the head on the #1. also note the height of the head bolt to the injector body nut. a long body injector would sit about 1/4" higher than these. the top section of the injectors are the same, it's the lower section that is longer between the hex nut and the threads.

Have your son sign up here on the forum and join in on the fun! if he needs help we can all chime to assist too.

Hope the photos help.

even better if he's got a mirror on a stick and a good camera with good lighting, he can try looking on the under side of the injectors for a part number stamped on the body.

Super informative,

Ill have my boy do the finger test, im pretty certain its the long body style ones though, since they were common on 6.2s put on trucks.

Members of the FB group who own Burbans and Blazers even said they found long body ones in theirs.

Guess we'll find out, ill ask him if he can yank one out and see if he cam find a number in one if anything

Lord if only I could completely rear down my motor, replace all seals, remove the rust from the exhaust manifolds, paint the block, redo the wiring to make it look nicer, etc.

God, id love to make my 6.2 look as proper as it could be, sure, what i have isnt a bad setup, but still.

I grew up with luxury cars, so touching it up would really give it a better feel to it
