Hi all,

a guy with a 1997 K1500 is experiencing some problems: engine was running fine, then suddenly stall while cruising, climbing a slope.

Now, it seems the engine is misfiring in 1 or 2 cylinders, produces white smoke, and has low power.

Though, once he reaches 1500 rpms, things clear, and engine is plenty of power.

The MIL is off, and I haven't collected any possible codes yet, will do that ASAP.

Any suggestion?

White smoke is timing on a hot engine. (Usually retarded.) Also fuel starvation/air. Check the lift pump PSI.
Then I would reset the TDCO etc. and see what it comes up with.
Still missing then I would check the rocker buttons. Use an IR temp gun on the exhaust manifold to see what cylinder is 'missing'. Possible burned valve.
