The turbo silencer broke on the suburban. Not a big deal just need to plug the hole. What have you done to plug it?

J-B Weld Plastic bondo stuff will hold it together.
At least it has held on everything plastic that I have used it on. Inner door panels, obsolete tail light lenses and a myriad of other items.

Ive been reading in my spare time about these in exhaust systems called Helmholtz resonators.

Never messed with them in the fleets, just chucked the engine covers.

Anyone have one in good factory condition, remove only it, and compare sound? I just wonder how much one actually helps quiet it down.

I cut the end of the silencer and used black ultra to seal it and tightened the clamp. Hopefully no issues. It has been 24 hrs of cure time. Time to go give it a whirl.
