Suburban skid plate

Tried LMC, but couldn't locate one.

Figured bone yards around here would have them rotted through, too. Maybe in good shape in a southern state. Might call around, though, just in case.

I'll post some images of how it mounts over the fuel tank, you can fabricate one using sheet metal brake, bead roller, drill then finish it however you want.

I have the skid plate and tank here off of a 99 K1500 6.5 diesel Suburban.

The skid plate would have worked on my buddies 96 gasser. Don't know on a 94. He had the same size fuel tank and was thinking about using the fuel tank, But there was something a little different on the fuel tank itself.

I think it's still listed for sale in that section.

If you are interested send me a PM. I forget what the price was. Something like $400 a ton. Gotta beat the scrap man out.

Or best offer.

How can we work out shipping. I'm not planning a trip anytime soon unless you can find me a low mileage 6.5 diesel cheap. Looking for an engine for one of my sons trucks.

He took it to a repair shop for a starter swap quite a while back. They didn't install the brace and broke his block first hit of the key.

Had like 123,000 miles on it or something ridiculous like that. Nice truck.

Looking for a low mileage engine we can swap. I keep hearing about super cheap 6.5's but haven't heard about any for sale - just after they are sold. If I had to run for a vehicle, I'd just give you the skid plate for a finders fee.

All it's doing is taking up space here. And there is no way I will ever need it before I get rid of it.

I found the ad on another forum. LOL

fuel tank, plastic tank guard a steel tank guard off a 1999 6.5 d
I have for sale the fuel tank, plastic tank guard a steel tank guard off a 1999 6.5 diesel Suburban.
$45 for all 3 pieces - That may be more or less than the $400 a ton I quoted earlier.

Near Clifton, Illinois

Will trade for anything I can use.

JorgeNY: Is this the tank that is mounted in the back between the frame rails? How many gallons?

Would be a nice addition for a truck to extend mileage

Shipping might be a killer

Me: the tank that mounts between the frame rails where the spare tire is on the truck.

I also have the cross members still on the frame.

I believe the Suburban tanks are 42 gallons.

I pay about $0.60/lb, if I recall correctly, from the last time I bought sheet steel a few weeks ago. I'll probably just model one up myself. Thank you, though.
