KODIAK door handles on my pick up

Something I've wanting to do for awhile now. These handles fit a 88-2000 Kodiak or whatever years that they had the same cab as our P/U's.
I bought everything new, but a junk yard if you can find one will be cheaper. I am actually looking for the rear handles and linkage if someone knows where a set is let me know.



Linkage for the Kodiak is alittle shorter. Old one could be cut and rebent.

You need a few parts like the lock paw that go's on the lock cylinder and the linkage from the cylinder to the lock latch and a few clips.

New handle is a bolt on deal except for the linkages.




I have all the part #s if anyone is interested I can post them. I also buy wholesale from GM so I can round up the parts also if needed.

My one question is about the operation of the handles, is there a pull tab inside or does the whole handle move like on the newer trucks?

Yep, only reason GM went with that handle design is the Kodiak sits higher than the C/K's and you couldn't lift the original handle to open the door. Keep this in mind, GM wouldn't redesign something that already worked to save money. Just like Tahoe's/Blazer's all have the ability to mount barn doors or tailgates because the back end is all the same on them.

I did that on my 93. Also, put the tailgate hardware from an 05 on it. The bear claw latches and all.

It has a paddle (for lack of a better word) that you squeeze back. againist the outer most part of the handle. Did that make since?
I will say these fill more solid. Maybe because they are new.

I'm sure most of us have had to remove a door handle before. The thing that bugs me is the hole they put in the regulator panel (The black removable panel) is not even close to lining up with the forward most bolt on the handle. SO, I always drill a new access hole. Take 30 seconds with a step bit.
The new hole is higher and left of the original.

Yep, got some? I'm in the market. I may just buy new ones, but going to see if used are out there somewhere.

No, I don't have any, but I'd like to find 4 for myself. I just read right over the above sentance in your first post -like it wasn't even there. :mad2:

Well being that a crew cab needs 4 maybe if someone does this mod on a ext or std cab truck, but has a crew cab Kodiak for parts could pull the rears with linkage for me??

I've thought about swapping my truck to the Kodiak style handles for some time now, glad to see someone else try it out as well. Lookin good! :thumbsup:
