4L80e intermittently stays in first gear. Had it completely rebuilt and still same issue. I was told it is the transmission case/housing. Have not been able to find this issue on the net. Anybody else ever deal with this issue? If I pull over and repeatedly shift from park to drive it will go back to shifting properly

How about if You put it into park, switch off the engine, start it again then try driving off ?
