my truck runs good in overdrive but when it down shifts it will not pick up speed
 
I dont have a clue to what the problem could be, so, I will start with the basics.
Make sure the battery terminals are clean and shiny and, be sure to clean the ground terminals at the rear of the passenger side cylinder head.
Is there any codes, service Engine soon light ?

It must have been blowing some black smoke too.
I have a boost sensor, boost control solenoid and a PMD that I carry for spares. Just never know when one of those three might crap out on a person.
