Welcome 455.
I know not the answer to Your question. It might work, it would need a shift controller though I think.
what other info do You have about the truck it is going into and what it came out of ?

Short answer, yes. You'll have to make sure and use the correct torque converter, make sure the bolt hole at the 1:30 position is there(not all have it), but you'll have to do some work on your trans cooler lines.

Welcome Buick 455.

I would assume that you might like Buick 455's, maybe? Oh yea, my cousin had a 1973 Grand Sport Stage 1 with the 455 CI., a black one. Nice car, only God and lady luck spared us from disaster, he was a high speed driver was not afraid to exceed the speed limit and race his brother that had an early 1970's Dodge Charger up and down the highways.
