3rd Gen Cummins Service Specs

Here is some of the basic specs for the 3rd Gen Cummins engines. More or less the capacity of fluids and torque spces. If there are things that you think should be added to this, please feel free. I'm sure a guy like Rich (Cumminalong) will be able to add plenty. Just wanted to have this here where we could have one thread for everyone to go to when they have a question about specs.

2003- early 2007 5.9L Cummins Turbo Diesel

Oil capacity 3 gallons.
Oil pan plug torque 37 foot-pounds
FLEETGUARD LF16035 - STRATAPORE OIL FILTER ('03-'09) DODGE LISLE - FILTER WRENCH
FLEETGUARD FS19856 - 7 micron ULSD compatible o-ring.('03-'07, 5.9L) 29mm socket on the raised hex on the fuel filter housing.

Rear axle AAM 11.5 takes 122 oz. = 3.81 qt 75W-90 or 75W-110 API GL-5 diff COVER BOLTS 30 ft-lb
03-003-06 TSB for axle fluid fill level
rear pinion nut is a 36mm 12 point
front pinion nut is a 32mm

Just to add onto the already great info provided, if you need specific portions of the service manual for either 2nd Gen (94 - 02) or 3rd Gen (03 - 09), just give me a shout and we'll get you taken care of.

The service manuasl are copyrighted material, so I don't want to post portions of it on the boards, but if you need to, say, change your power steering pump or remove the transfer case or change the brake calipers.....just drop a line.
