Yeah, so this happened. Borg Warner S364.5 SX-E. Has a 64.5/87 compressor wheel, 76/67 turbine wheel. 0.63 A/R turbine housing. First test drive was last night...and holy shit. This thing rocks! I will get some more pics and video soon f or you all. It's disgustingly amazing. Enjoy some turbo...
So...I have this T04B Banks Sidewinder in my possession. The specs are 58/70 compressor wheel. 74/64 turbine wheel. 1.00 A/R turbine housing. Anybody have any experience with these? Any good? I've rebuilt it and not 100% what to do with it. I'm going to be stepping up my turbo once again far...
Well, the engine is almost ready to go. It's sitting at my house. Oil pan with it, along with some of Leroys nice and shiny oil cooler lines. And today's present: Injection Pump and Injectors. Courtesy with a new and handle dandy torque screw as well that my pump guy installed. He was curious...
Well, Leroy confirmed it today. I am moving forward with the P400. It should be here sometime first half of June. Nothing too exciting outside the standard build I had. The base P400 already took care of most of what I was going to do to the engine anyways. Some people are looking into injectors...
So scrolling thru ebay and found this on a 506 Optimizer block for sale, same as the Optimizer I had. Notice anything familiar? Literally identical damage. Makes me wonder
I got two extra blocks from before aside from my 599. There are absolutely so valley markings on them, leading me to believe they are chinese blocks. Can someone help me identify these other two blocks. One block has the numbers 12555506 stamped behind the drivers head in the block, but has F14...
It finally happened. Nothing even exciting. Was just cruising down the road to work this morning, cruise set at 70mph, and what I can only assume is the connecting rod, decided she had to leave the party and wipe my brand new starter out with it. This was on my Optimizer 506 block
So I've stepped the turbo up again. I was running a HX35/40 turbo before. The specs on it were a 60x83 compressor wheel with a 70x60 turbine wheel in a 12cm housing. This was an amazing turbo for in town and great low end torque, but my one complaint with it had always been high cruising boost...
Was out having a bit of fun the other evening with my buddy. My friend is driving and I'm taking the video. Just thought you guys would enjoy some vids. That 35/40 is a lot louder from the outside than I realized.
So I have put together two videos that show some of the differences the new exhaust manifolds made. The video of boosting is pretty self-explanatory, and the 2nd video is a WOT run. Notice how awesomely low my EGT's are at max (900*f). Let me know what you guys think.
Has anybody tried anything different using 6.2L Long Body injectors and what results have you come up with? Any results using different nozzles or valve lift or anything? All information is welcome. Thank you!
Was a dream for a while until I kind of fell into these manifolds. Been working on a custom project to do away with the restrictive factory 6.5L exhaust manifolds. Using a old Banks 6.2L Sidewinder manifold and a centermount manifold. Here's what's been done so far. Mocked it up on a spare motor...
I decided to take my truck to the last test and tune of the season here. Ran a 17.1. Which is slower than I expected but I also bogged hard on the start. It usually never smokes at all under a good hard launch. It was my first drag run ever. So I'm sure there's ton of room for improvement, plus...
Was just doing a test run. Been playing with the injection pump settings and was seeing what changed. Still learning a lot but moving in the right direction :)
SO I picked up a Holset HX40 for dirt cheap, never spin. Got a 60mm wheel and 18cm housing. Was gonna make a 35/40 hybrid but was wondering if I ran it straight out, how bad the lag would be? My trucks is fairly decent at spooling a 12cm but any bigger and I think it would be a turd
I thought at one point you can't change ECU between years or was that pumps? I got a customer with a 94 6.5L, IP is bad, he is looking for cheap temp fix, and found a guy selling a few spare used DS4's. One is from a 94, the others are 96-98ish I think. I am checking to try to get the 94 pump (I...
Well, a while ago I did finally get around to installing a set of ARP headstuds from leoydiesel. While the heads were off and the motor was out, I also swapped from square stamp NA precups to turbo T-Stamp cups out of my old 599 block. I also picked up a spare motor that I think is a 141 that I...
So now with WMI my stock clutch has been slipping bad. Looking at aftermarket kits (not a lot to choose from) and I see Clutchmasters has some good series (FX250/300/350) that I am gonna call about. A long time ago they said they had an upgraded Kevlar clutch for a 6.5L diesel so I am gonna dig...
So it has been a while since I have posted here so I thought I will share what I have been up to. Nothing to exciting but with winter coming and productivity grinding down I did have some videos from this summer of some testing I have been doing with my water/methanol kit. I know you guys like...
