OK so the PT Wiring Kit came in and it seems simple enough. However it seem that the PO went a little over kill making sure things were grounded. Granted he was running three TVs, all the sound to support them, an alarm from 1994 with more relays than two of our trucks put together, and a high...
After spending most of the afternoon swapping IPs and avoiding rain storms, just as it was getting dark, went to plug my extension into the PMD plug on the new IP and wouldn't you know it not quite a match. I know that I can pull off the intakes and swap harnesses, but please tell me there is...
SDrove to town for some P/T it decided to run away a bit,was on highway so didn't mind.Finished appointment and won't start. Tried what I could with what I have to no avail. Got tow coverage so we'll see what a 25 mile tow costs these days. Anyhow decided to pull codes while waiting ; DTC 31 35...
After stockpiling parts, bursting a fuel line, and a little elbow grease the Sub is done for now. I went ahead and pulled the turbo to get to that bank of injectors, also in hope that the turbo fairy would show up too, but no such luck. Replaced all return lines with clear, finished the FTB...
There is a HX40 locally for $200. They do state it needs to be rebuilt. Is this a good deal or not? Haven't seen it or talked to seller yet, but sounds to be a true Holset. If not would the rebuild make up for the knock-off factor?
Where besides SSD can one purchase the micro filter and FFM O-rings? They want as much to ship as the parts alone cost. Even Moneyslave knew to use the "if it fits it ships" $7 box.
I've got the cable, downloaded the software, but no license #. Not being cheap, just broke. Is there a "free" way to do this? Fixin' to do IP and such.
Has anybody purchased or dealt with Diesel Care Inc? I know "moneyslave" will sell a set for $275, but the difference helps pay for FTB and other parts and IP.
Thank goodness for clearing codes, my head almost exploded last night when I pulled codes 14, 29, 31, 35, 36, 42, 49, 57, 62, 84, and 99.:mad2: After letting it sit for a few hours with no batteries and finally getting it fired up I'm down to just a DTC36. It continues to be rough starting...
Was lucky to "Warrantee Exchange" my possibly bad OPS that I destroyed during removal and definitely need to put in the extension for future incidents. Is there a short shopping list and can I see some pics of what others have done? OPS relay is gonna happen too.
So as I'm leaving the neighborhood to go see my brand new grandson(born an hour before) I hear and feel a large clunk in the front left corner. The steering goes away and as I'm making the u-turn realize that the brakes are gone too. After limping it back to the house I pop the hood to find...
Well as I soon approach 150K miles it is safe to say the injectors are past due. Probably stock. So my question is what do I buy and where do I buy? The biggest things I struggle to get my head around, after reading several of the previous posts on this site and others, are ...
I'm lookin' for a reputable 6.5 shop in the Denver area to do a scan to see where timing is and/or any other issues besides my tempermental FSD exist. The local dealership is willing to look at it, but now a days if the computer doesn't tell 'em exactly what to fix they get lost. If this is...
When our trucks are out on the road they stand out a little bit. The tell tell signs of the 6.5 on the hood, the vented front bumper, the slightly larger exhaust, and the rattle and humm of the V8 diesel. On the occasion one ends up in the junk yard the engine, hood, and bumpers are usually...
Ok Y’all,
Here is the situation, while driving today the truck stumbled like it used to when the PMD went bad. This time it never died though. The power dropped off and the “service throttle soon” and check engine came on simultaneously with a relay sounding click coming from under the dash...
