Made a Left U-turn yesterday and, after turning the wheel, activated the left turn signal. The normal blinker noise rhythm / noise pattern accelerated and then quit. From then on, no turn signal noises, no dash indicator and, upon external inspection, no functioning turn signals right or left...
Finally programed replacement key fobs. Jumped pins #4 & #8 as per instructions. Door Locks cycled…ready to accept reprogramming of new fobs which, pleasant surprise, worked pretty much as advertised. Remotes functions in that one can hear the module under the dash activating when pressing...
This popped up in suggested vids because I was searching some Optical Sensor videos while waiting for mine to show up in the mail. Now I'm getting a bunch of 6.5 related stuff.
I call it "Click Bait" because they claim (at the end) to have made errors on purpose to have viewers comment. More...
Truck's been running stupid for a long time. Hard to start on cool mornings and, if it doesn't catch and run, it won't start on the subsequent tries unless you A. Crank for an eternity (not good for starter) or B. let it sit for about a half-hour or more and the smoke at start up is worse than...
Replaced all four the interior door handles on the 99 Suburban. I noted that for the front doors, the previous owner had also done this in the past (screws used in place of the rivet on both doors). I also noted what appeared to be an aftermarket door latch rod as it wasn't the OEM one-piece...
I was awake early and bored so you get the choice of suffering with me or not. I've been mussing about the Suburban and about putting into one place the mad ramblings that go through one's mind when a big project starts, continues and never really seems to end (Brother's Red (M816wrecker)...
The scanner is an INNOVA unit with OBD1 and II connectivity (different cables etc.) it works as advertised in the 96 Silverado, 97 Accura and both 2017 VW Golfs.
I've swapped computers from the Burb to the Silverado and the Burb box talks to the scanner while in the Silverado. However, the...
It's been a while since we've run down this rabbit hole. I have a set of bosch injectors, rebuilt locally that upon testing are pissing at dribbling at 1800, peeing at 1850 and then spraying 'not terrible' when forced to pop.
Thinking of new nozzles but, of course, nobody has Bosch, India or...
Picked up a 1999 GMC Burb which I intro'd here.
Great 'Soccer Mom' truck. Love the way it drives now that the brakes, tires and alignment are done. That and the removal of dirt, dog hair that remained in it after several years of sitting unused. I did note some rust bubbles along the lower...
Road trip to Washington to look at a 1999 K1500 GMC (happy now BT Farm) Suburban. Inspection revealed a good looking vehicle that is still in need of some love.
186K miles. Engine Replaced by GM at 95K (oil line fail, took the motor). IP replaced at 115K. 3:42 gearing. Oil lines started...
SSForce (Steve) came by to visit and play around. He’s had a set of injectors he wanted to swap in as well as try out my A-Team Turbo (the easiest bolt on upgrade you’re bound to come across) as well as install his self-sourced Feed the Beast mod.
He dropped the truck off the night before so...
As I said in the 6.5 Performance section WRT my build thread…In the spirit of 'it never ends' I'm taking the truck off line for the foreseeable future. Hopefully not for more than a year or so.
I've learned a lot in the past few years and I've learned that a few mistakes I've made REALLY need...
One of the many features on SS Force’s Truck that stood out was his ladder bars. While they looked great, they were designed to stop the ‘Axle Wrap’ he was experiencing with his 4:10 rear-end and 37” tires. Did I mention they looked great?
Truth be told, I didn’t think my truck really...
Its been a while since I've done anything fun to/for the truck. Spent the last several months chasing other issues like front differential (written up), CV half shafts (see diff thread), tunes (just some lab rat stuff for Bill), Air Dog LP shutting down (dying relay) and some mosquito killer...
What with the recent discussion on rockers and all, I figured I'd have a little fun having received a few pictures from TTS member 635 after his latest adventures.
Stock Rock w/ nylon buttons prone to failure. $0.30 per button & who knows/cares how much for OEM rockers (and new pushrods)...
With the differential out, I figured I'd finally get at this project I've had on the shelf for the better/worst part of a year.
If you're ditching the GM-X in favor of another Turbo, odds are that the oil return line needs modification.
When I bought the ATT from 635 years ago, he’d had...
Last week I had a CV axle pull out of the inner sleeve/hub. I had gone over a speed bump/ramp apparently too fast and the driver's side pulled out and wedged behind the inner sleeve. Needle bearings, etc. spread out for a while. Thanks to SS Force, we were able to get me on the road in no...
1996, K-1500, 3:73 gearing.
Replaced the front differential with a "New" (reman) unit. It went in fairly easy and I've no extra parts and I did fill it with oil.
I placed it in 4H and it felt like the time the front bearing hubs came apart.... Drags the truck down!
4H or 4L...same...
I'm trying to figure out why the truck feels like it has a two ton trailer behind when getting off the line. With the upgraded motor and tune along with a rebuilt transmission and no love for the effort, have decided to see if it has anything to do with the drive line creating rolling...
Friend called and I'm out of town and ideas. but not without collective theorys

At issue, he changed oil in his 97 6.5 2500 and while hunting down tools, let it drain for 4 hours. He refilled it with 7 quarts and the dipstick showed full. However, at restart...no oil pressure!
Says the...
