First I want to apologize for derailing your thread WECSOG I haven't been here since about 2013 and some of the "old hands" popped in asking questions.
For the rest of you, I got away from all forums for a while I needed to decompress a lot of things happening in past few years, I've missed my...

Hey all, Ted aka member ID 635 is dropping off a vehicle frame http://www.thetruckstop.us/forum/showthread.php?36773-635-Rebuild-cont/page4 in Dallas Wednesday this week, then coming by to visit in MS here Thursday or Friday; I'm not sure where he's going after that, but he wanted me to post for...
From an old word document I had I put together years ago; I thought it might be useful here also; read through it and if you still have questions PM me and I'll see if I can clear it up.
Timing is best set with a GM tech 2, that said it can be done on OBD-IIs with a Snap On MT2500. You also...
On occasion I get an email or call wondering if I know of somebody close to them that can help them with setting time, changing injectors etc. this is a different post from member locator thread http://www.thetruckstop.us/forum/showthread.php?4714-6-5-member-locator
What I'm hoping for here...
Some "old info" that I had saved from old site I thought I had posted long ago courtesy of KNKREB
Here is yet another edition in the never ending saga of “As your Truck Runs” - or doesn’t…..
As we, read, and re-read the same questions, we all would like to just get the T-shirt that says...
I'm tired of having to pay big $$$ for the overhead of a machine shop to fabricate me little odds & ends pieces and parts, I'm no machinist by any means but do have the aptitude to make basic pieces & parts.
I have a decent floor drill press, now I'm looking at adding mill & lathe capability...
Cleaning out some old scraps of paper in my desk and came across a note I made myself that read ATT turbo installed (5-9-09) @ 175,582 miles.
So out of curiosity I just read the odometer 222,002 miles on my K1500 well for all the nay-Sayers that ATT "Chinese Junk" turbos won't last I strongly...
Short & to the point,
Apparently on another "site" some heated discussion about ATT, not all of the discussion has been allowed to stay making it one sided, which is fine, prerogative of the staff & members there.
This post is not about that, and any discussion what happened there really...
Done Thanks AK
Actually it was done twice so the other thread was deleted when extra posts were moved from TRL to this one.
For the new folks we like to use the TRL section for reference material and post questions here or other pertinent forum areas.
We don't normally do dual posting, or post to a non site vendor, but since this could also happen in other GM beside the 6.5 I thought I'd link it to the thread running in the 6.5 section, especially since I had an axle shaft snap on mine as result of bad bearing with ABS lite being the warning...
This is from the old site I thought I had posted before here but could not find it this morning wanting to point Chessie to it as a reference point of prior experimentation posted back in 2004.

I have a little experiment I have been thinking on, that I finally got around to doing...
Good discussion here, http://www.thetruckstop.us/forum/showthread.php?24508-Oh-h!t....I-put-GAS-in-my-fuel-tank!
but the only sure way to be 100% sure is get out the gas, since we now ultra low sulphur Diesel, do the conventions of old hold true a little gas won't harm us, just how much gas...
My point was the "king of fuel" I think you meant "kind of fuel" :D is same capability from any DS4 if it's asked for, I'm still testing that one, Bill is running a stock DS4 IP I asked him if there was a higher output IP or mech one, "If it was available, I'd be running it" Bill & Matt @...
Hey I don't know how many of you from the old sites, know RATDOC (Tom A. in Long Island) I just got a email his Dad passed away, if ya'll are keepers of the faith put him & his family in your thoughts & prayers over the next several days.

Seems to be a lot of discrepancy on question of cats on the 6.5 figured it was a worthy poll project, did your truck come with a cat
Both the vehicles my sig came with cats and have since had cat-ectemy, and both nearly plugged solid when I surgically removed them, best tool for cat ectemey is...
Heath's was my choice 2nd time for the truck, 1st time for the burb; as it has the 2 piece self aligning "slip-joint" configuration that makes the install any flavor of vehicle VERY easy.
My 1st on the truck was ceramic coated from Kennedy that died a premature death by me wrapping it with...
Found this primer on turbos how & why they work archived on my desktop @ home, goes from simple to deep turbo math: http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/tech_center/tech_center.html
Much discussion of late on belt tensioners and belt lengths so I wanted to put out a summary & pics from archived photos. For the 98 model truck & burb, standard belt length is 101", p/n's in part point http://www.thetruckstop.us/forum/showthread.php?t=629 when removing tha vac pump general...
