I'm surprised Napa didn't make you the hose! here in my town they are the go to for hydraulic hoses. you take in the old one and they will make it there in the store for you.
I haven't gotten a chance or put enough time into it yet, but have been wanting to pull the injectors out of the 93 and check their pressures. the DB2 IP was turned up by the PO (how much, IDK) but it does smoke on acceleration and with the onset of the cold weather has been getting harder to...
Agree 100%. any injector you buy whether it's new or rebuilt needs to be pressure checked. iirc Marty ran into this with the new ones he bought. he had to send them off to have them checked after seeing them in his tester the pressures were way off.
in my fooling around with old crusty...
I can test and adjust them. have a bunch of shims too. I'm still in the learning process playing with these old used ones. if someone would like me to set some up I wouldn't charge anything, it would be free for any of yall :)
Lots of us despise anything with electronics, computers and such. there are some really nice new vehicles out there but none are made like they used to be. it's called planned obsolescence. most are now made to last just slightly longer than the warranty or like most here will last until...
Now I know who to send my heads to when I need valves, stems, and seats done LOL. especially if they are cracked between the valves but still functions without coolant leaks!
LOL local engine shops won't touch anything with cracks!
I've heard good things on the optilube xpd but it's expensive. I wonder how it compares to the SLF. there's been lots of real testing on wear but none have tested what we want to see or their methods were not completely correct.
the little machine that does the wear scar testing doesn't...
Here is an exert from Stanadyne Lubricity Formula. it shows the main ingredient to be paraffinic and naphthenic solvent, paraffinic solvent has the old sulfur in it's crude form. makes sense for how well it should lubricate in diesel fuel. it uses a mixture of both. I need to find a...
I was looking into this particular one since I have not seen it on shelves here locally. Noticed what it states about very dry and winter blends on top of what your pic shows for a mix ratio. 1:500 looking online it's showing a mix ratio of 1:1000. I assume the 1:500 is only for the 8oz...
Thinking further on the wire you found, that supplied power to the alternator and the cab. double check your alternator for a power draw and if it's still working. even if it was randomly arking and or shorting to ground, it could have damaged the internal regulator in the alternator.
Nice that you found this and good thing that it didn't burn the truck to the ground! I would look to see what might have caused the tear in the insulation. you might need to secure the wire away from the area or wrap it with some heat / rub proof sheathing.
from what I remember there is a spring washer in there on the pin that holds the brake pedal to the rod which also holds the switch in place. when I had to do mine it was a PIA to say the least. only room for one hand in there and it's a guarantee you'll get a hand cramp with all the...
heater core replaced not long after buying the truck.
fan is decent and evap core area was cleaned of leaves...
when I replaced the dash I replaced the section with the doors, old ones were broken.
All said, heater core not being factory and from the auto parts house might be an issue
So.... out of curiosity. on my 95 it has the single stat with the block off plate but no matter if it's got a 180 or 195 stat, the engine has always not had a good heater in the winter nor does it warm up like the 93 does. currently the 95 has a 180 stat only because I don't like the 195...
Where does this fitting go? on the crossover going to the heater core or underneath between the crossover to the pump? both my trucks use the single t-stat crossover with the t-stat that has the block-off plate on bottom. when I pulled the crossover on the 93 (has the good heater) both...
