    Rock auto order problem

Worked perfectly fine on my 1999. Just enough to get bolt threaded in and used the bolt the rest of the way. I did say tap, not gorilla mash it on

I just tapped the HB on with a plastic mallet

    Lower ball joint replacement

BFH with a pickle fork has always worked to separate them from the knuckle for me. If you've got stamped steel LCAs and they've been changed before, then the rivets have been drilled out and you've got bolts holding them to the LCA. Life is simple then.

    Timing Cover Gasket???

Thank you for that reply which was delivered in a way that a neophyte can understand. This is my son's '94 K2500 Suburban. I'm putting in Cloyes Chain and gears, AC Delco HD and Pulley. The engine has 290K miles on it and the vehicle was bought with 240K miles on it. It has blowby, but runs...

    Timing Cover Gasket???

Was doing a 6.5 closeout buy on intake manifold gaskets that I need for when I replace the injection pump on the '94 Suburban. They show a timing cover gasket set. Do I need one, or is that just sealed with The Good Stuff?

    Rock Auto closeout for 6.x

I searched and found the thread. The rec was 99.5", though some said 100". Unfortunately, neither were in the sale goods.

    Oil

Been running synthetic at 5K intervals. I buy based on price and it's typically been Mobil or Valvoline. Not clear it makes a difference. Recently picked up 4 gallons of Valvoline HD Diesel semi-synthetic in the Walmart bargain bin for $8 per gallon. I'll try that for now.

    Rock Auto closeout for 6.x

They show a Gates belt K10206. Is that a 102"? What is the length needed after deleting the vacuum pump?

    Suburban Barn Door Removal?

I'm back doing this project. Was never happy with the peeling clear coat, so bought another clean blue door at a boneyard. Also replacing a rear driver's side door as it had a bubble of rust coming through. Much quicker and easier for me to replace with matching blue doors than to do rust...

    Repainting hood, Prep Advice?

Thanks, I will check on that one. I already have a sprayer, never used, but old. It has an aluminum paint container that hangs below. Most of the modern have plastic containers on top.

    Repainting hood, Prep Advice?

Figure I need to do both paint and clear coat.

    Repainting hood, Prep Advice?

Clear coat is frosty white on the hood, so it's due to be repainted. Doing a real job, not a rattle can. I have a DA sander. Do I need to take it down to the metal, primer and paint? Or just sand out the existing paint and paint over it? I do need a sprayer. Any recommendations?

    GMT 400 Stereo Knobs

Are there replacements? Almost all of them have broken apart. When I visit boneyards, the stereos are almost always fhe first things gone. If they are there, the knobs are all gone. Need to find a source for new replacements.

    WTF are these?

I had them floating around the Suburban. Finally just threw them into the glove box or console between the front seats.

    WTF are these?

Velcro is the brainchild of Georges de Mestral, a Swiss engineer who, in 1941 went for a walk in the woods and wondered if the burrs that clung to his trousers — and dog — could be turned into something useful. After nearly eight years of research (apparently it's not so easy to make a synthetic...
