A scatter shield protects the driver in case the flywheel comes apart.
Are you planning on running in an Open class? I suspect that you are going to have a better chance in Work Stock, unless you have built a badass dedicated pulling truck.

It is going to take a lot of winch (even with a snatch block) to move that truck and trailer.
Are you familiar with the steering shaft clunk that our trucks are subject to? I feel it more in the steering wheel, but can hear it inside as well. It shows up at low speeds when I hit small bumps.
My exhaust does not drone at all, and my wife thinks that it is very quiet. I left the muffler on for that reason.
