I keep 10-12 oil filters on my shelf in the basement. I have come to the end of my current supply and I have been looking for a re-supply of said oil filters. While living in Evansville, IN I could simply run down to QADCO Auto Parts and pick up a case of PF2232 filters for about 9 bucks each...
I think you are gonna be outta luck. I don't believe there are any 2-speed rearends out there that would fit under a pickup. I think some of the older trucks, like pre-60's 1.5 ton trucks had them, but were geared to pull serious weight and I think they were underdrives instead of overdrives...
If it were me, I would start with a rear differential service, removing the cover, draining gear oil, replace gasket and install cover, then fill with the proper gear oil and additive. There is a better than even chance this will alleviate the problem.
Unless you have service records it's hard...
The battery is new (less than 2 months old). The problem is due to the plow. When running theplow the battery goes dead. Now that I have been reading, I am in agreement that the alt. is the issue not the battery. I am hoping to help him install a HD alt. if we can find one that will fit without...
Thanks for the link Stacks, and the other replies guys. Today I have been reading up on HD alternators. I too am thinking that this truck has the 105 amp alt. The HD alt. are physically larger and I wonder how that will effect the mounting brackets? Gotta be some aftermarket stuff to make it...
I'm not sure what size the alternator is no doubt whatever was cheap and stock! It probably would be a lot easier to upgrade the alternator than trying to wire in a second battery.
My cousin has an old '89 Chevy 1 ton gasser (350 ci) that he uses to plow his trailer court during the winter. Problem is when using the plow it drains his battery down to the point that it won't start the next time. First thing we checked was the alternator. I checked then while it was in for...
I have been out of the PC/Laptop repair business for awhile now, but just cruising the net found this site. It says you can download the BIOS upgrade for your mx3225. Scroll about half way down. Don't know if this will help or not, hope it does...
Excellent suggestion and no doubt you have a spare bedroom you would be willing to rent out to a fellow diesel brother should I follow your suggestion, as my wife's size 7 inprints my arse as I'm flying out the door.
On second thought it would be cool to wake up and see aligators in the back...
I have searched the forum and found various methods to accomplish the switch from Dex to Transynd.
1. The Hoot Method - using trans pump and cooler lines to flush and fill w/new filter.
2. Drain and Fill - drain pan/change filter and refill with Transynd. Doing this twice within 5K miles for...

The TBI also responds purty well to better air intake, and free flowing exhaust. Possible to pick up about 1-1.5 mpg with synthetics and a light foot. And, she'll be a whole lot safer in the burb, and so will the kids. It's cheap insurance. My wife wouldn't have any other vehicle than her...
