Seems to me that once you throw the code the ABS light will be on until the code is cleared. I wasn't able to clear my code (ABS Light) with my EFI LIve scanner, nor could Advance Auto do it. It will have to be someone with a Tech II to clear it. While you're at it have it scanned to see if...
I just got back from Wally World and they have the 2.5 gallon jug of Rotella 15w-40 for $31.97 with an instant $4.00 off for a grand total of $27.97 (I guess not a sale, more like a discount). Not bad nowa days. I also noticed that the Wally World brand Super Tech 15w-40 oil is kinda of...
Sometimes staying an extra night can be a blessing in disguise should there be an infection. Ask anyone and they will say that an appendectomy is a minor surgery, but anytime they put you under and open you up it's serious. I am really glad she did well in the surgery. And, prayers that the...
Maybe next time try those hard launches without the trailer on the back....:hihi:
Glad you got it back together OK. And as for that alternator, talk about the rain pouring...geesh. I bet it was easier than the flex plate though..:agreed:
I've always used AC Delco parts myself, and for quite some time now at least 8 or 10 years finding AC Delco parts were tough to come by. It wasn't until I found this parts store that I could actually get the stuff reliably. That was in Indiana, now that I am here in WV the only delco parts are...
I was in Evansville, IN this past week and talking to a the A/C Delco parts dealer I've been using for years. I asked him why everyone was wearing a NAPA T- Shirt. He said they cancelled their contract with A/C Delco because Delco was trying to sell out and that current contracts would not be...
This is what I do also. I plug in during the winter just to help the starter live longer. x2 on the syn oil.
But, as other's have stated, with those winter temps I would stick with the 5w-40 syn all year round
The latter, normal service - drop the pan. Is this an issue? I can take it to the local dealership if it has to be flushed. You can answer here for the benfit of the others who may have this situation, but I think I'm gonna give you a call later in the week. Thanks for the response.
Ashton,
My wife's '04 Suburban 6.0L 2500 4x4 is due for a drive train oil change and I would like recommendations and quotes for the following:
Transmission oil (4L80E)
Front and rear differentials (G80)
Transfer case (Auto 4x4 option)
The suburban (90,000 miles) has the Auto 4x4 option if...
I got mine from Kennedy Diesel and have been using them for years (one on the pre-OEM fuel filter, and one on the Oil filter). They aren't real cheap, but worth it as you can see.
kennedy diesel Scroll down to Truck Accessories, then FilterMag.
I just changed my oil yesterday and used a...
I think that Sea Foam would work better, but it is a slow process just dumping any cleaner in the fuel tank. I believe that if you use the Sea Foam by allowing it to be drawn in through a vacuum port, i.e. the vacuum for the brake booster, it will do a much better job. Some auto garages have a...
Getting the new batteries was practically a given, but I wanted to run it by you guys to see if there were other issues...posiibly. This fusible link thing is a little troublesome. I hope this is not an issue but I will check the cables. Thanks.
Yeah, I understood you to mean try the batteries...
This is what I am thinking. I am 99.5% sure that the pass side battery is shot, but I'm not sure about the driver's side. The load test would verify if it's bad or not.
Sorry, I should have mentioned that I dsconnected both batteries when I charged them. I have charging lugs, they screw into the battery screw-holes and have a top-post-type terminal, this made it easy to attach the charger clamps.
Anyways, I am also thinking that one battery took a dump and I...
