Check your owner's manual. Gotta have the info there. If it is ATF then Transynd is an excellent choice and you can run it in your transfer case as well. Of course the Amsoil mentioned would work well too, it is their version of a TES 295-type syn transmission fluid.
Sooo, you sayin' you know a guy that knows a guy? :hihi:
I started the new job and time is tight, but I need to get down there and find out about what the break-down is for that kinda money. I was talking to the Service manager and he said they do a lot of them, and it runs about $7000. I been...
I haven't ruled out the braided lines, but I'm kinda dealing with injectors right now, and the local dealership wants $7000 to do everything..Ouch! Might be awhile before I get back around to the brake issue.
I haven't done the brake lines. I have read a lot of stuff pro and con on this subject and I don't know if it is worth the risk. I just don't know. :???:
I have been unable to do ANYTHING about my mushy brake pedal. I have tried a bunch of things, and the only thing I haven't done, that I know of, is replace the master cylinder. Bummer.
I buy mine at Kroger. I also shop there so at the end of the month I usually have about 200 points which means $.20 off each gallon. $3.98 is way better than $4.18 per gallon! If I could get the rest of the family to shop there I could get up to $1.00 off per gallon, but that's a 1000 pts ($1.00...
Here is the PS/Hydroboost Flush procedure
Here is the repost. I cleaned it up a bit to make it easier to read and follow....
I can't remember if I jacked mine up or not, it'll probably be easier on the pump if you do. Anyways, if you do jack the front of the truck up to take some pressure off...
Pepp,
I'm not sure what you're asking me here. The thread in the DIY here is what I posted under the Maintenance forum and Mike moved it to DIY sometime back. I didn't post anything over at DP. That one over there had pics and and more detailed. My post here, just hit the highlights after I...
Get off that couch and get busy!!!! :D
I like the Valvoline stuff too, but I can never find it here in enough quantity to do the front and rear.....unlike the Super Tech which is always available.
I've been looking at the SuperTech stuff too. It's synthetic and it meets the GM spec. If it meets the spec it meets the spec. I am running Amsoil front and rear also, but it is pricey and must be ordered so, shipping too. I am going to be using the Super Tech next go round.
X2
I used the NAPA brand PS fluid, couldn't find the Valvoline. The owner of the NAPA store said their brand is made by Valvoline, so I used it.
Also, if you look in the DIY forum there are instructions how to flush the system. This would get all the old stuff out along with any crap that is in...
I have had one on my oil filter and my Pre-OEM racor fuel filter for about 8 years now. After cutting one of ea. open and seeing the stuff that was attached to the inside of the filter case, I was convinced this was a good thing....peace of mind is priceless.
I wonder if you could find a paint primer that is lead-based...maybe China? This would not protect against high radiation but if you got close to a hot zone you would have some protection. If you are really serious then a low cost giger counter is a must. Keep in mind avoiding is much better...
I may be old, but I'm not ready to go all Kavorkian or anything like that!!! :skep: So asking for pictures of you is out!
But how 'bout some major discounts!!!! :sifone:
