    CV Axle ABS Reluctor Ring

yup, wobbles/vibrations at highway speed under acceleration is a sign of worn out CV's. Easy road test is if you can make the vibration come and go by accelerating then coasting. Had a few CV's wear out that never clicked, but had the acceleration vibrations.

    Seat Covers

for durability I'd look into the custom fit saddle blanket style. my back seat has had them since the first day i bought my truck and they are still in great shape. I think they look nice imo.

    2006 Day time Running Lights

I don't have the mileage you guys have, but my 05 still has original DRL's. The only bulb I've had to replace was one brake bulb last year. However, when I briefly owned an 02 trailblazer I had to replace all the headlight sockets because they had all melted. Scary seeing it melted like that...

    94 Explorer

new plan for the door panels. going to keep the original panels so i don't have to try to figure out how to roll the windows up and down. saw where another guy made his own pull handles out of wood. didn't look bad. mine won't be as fancy, but will be functional. probably paint them to match...

Does anyone else shift with no clutch?

my worst "shit i missed" was an 83 gmc C60. it was towards the end of its life, i was fully loaded with a water tank (overloaded actually) and started climbing a long hill. my first downshift from 5 to 4 on the high axle i missed. shit, tried 3...too late....tried flipping to low...

    94 Explorer

Time flies when you're having fun :D . The past couple days have been spent removing the front hubs and axles to re-grease and replace anything needed. Had to replace 2 of the wheel bearings, one had a dent and the other had some rust pitting. Got everything done except I was an idiot tonight...

    94 Explorer

Original panel on the left designed for manual crank. Replacement panel on the right. You can see the hole I've drilled where the crank needs to go through. Looking straight down through where the window buttons would be. You can see with it mounted on the door it needs about 1 1/2 inches...

    Woah!

Looks to me like the picture of the truck in the snow is real, but it has been blown up and a different background (blue semi) added to make the truck look bigger. If you zoom in you can see a pixel line wrapping around the truck where the blue semi meets it like someone had to fill it in...

    94 Explorer

I'd like to pick your guys brain a little too. Long story short, my Explorer has manual windows, and I want to keep it that way. Interior panels for manual cranks had a huge design flaw and the pull handle rips off very easy. The few junkyard Explorers that have manual windows are torn off...

    94 Explorer

So apparently my problem is once I start working I forget to take pics. Spent my Saturday afternoon at the local U-pull salvage yard. Picked up 3 interior door panels, drivers side mirror, battery tie down, transfer case shift motor, front drive shaft, and an assortment of bolts. Loved every...

    94 Explorer

yes. based on my experience with chevy auto hubs of the 80's I'll probably be replacing them with manual ones

    94 Explorer

Part of me can't believe I did it :D . Swore all through HS I would never own a Ford. Guess my HS buddy finally got the best of me. Just picked up a 94 Explorer 4x4 5 speed manual 4.0 v6 for $900. I'll get pics, probably tomorrow. Body is straight with only a couple dings in the front...

    01 3500HD (gmt400) 8.1L

wasn't one reason for the deep frame was to handle the allison dimensions? And here i thought I knew it all :D , I never knew they put from the factory a 8.1 in the gmt400 bodystyle. I guess I would lean towards the 4L85E, but then I was wrong about the engine.................

    01 3500HD (gmt400) 8.1L

    I'd say slim to none. It should have a 7.4 w/ a 4L85E

    educate me please

may not be the right place to ask this, but here it is anyway. first let me say i am not trying to start any arguments, i have a basic knowledge of how diesel engines work, but not too much beyond that. one thing I've noticed you guys seem to comment frequently on is the battle of keeping...

    01 suburban 6.0 rough idle

p0300, check spark plugs. might be a tad corroded and sitting that long may have been just enough to corrode just past the point of not wanting to work right away. misfiring will also reek havoc on alot of sensors including emission system sensors and throw all sorts of codes like O2 sensors...

    Considering an 05 LLY K3500

do NOT put dex 6 in the allison. it has a seal that is incompatible and will eventually start leaking. it was fixed in 06. GM is very quiet about that little tidbit, in fact they will deny it I found out from someone who use to work for allison.
