i have not looked any further into this since posting. i recently purchased a TCI EZ-TCU and am pleased so far. it was at least 500 less than the supermatic.
be warned: running a 4L80E under high line pressures will cause premature failure. under normal operation, high pressures are seen only...
drove it to work this morn. 1st time in 2 weeks. shifts a little harsh and need to change shift rpms. TCC doesn't lock unless i use the toggle and speedo isn't working now. got some demons to exercise.
we work together so i don't want to ruin the atmosphere. i'm the new guy, shop keeper, and he's one of the mechanics. i will let him know and if he offers i will grab it. otherwise, it was a hard lesson to learn.
well then all i can say is 'oh f@#k me'! i thought i was doing him a favor by paying him instead of a shop. and i work with him.
is the pump broke? i can use the one from the old one if so. and is it difficult?
i will go and check the fluid now.
guy who put it in swears he didn't force anything. he left the converter bolted on the flex plate from when he pulled the old trans. the tcu isn't showing any faults though. was your led flashing when it stopped working?
and the handheld is constantly showing...
took the trans out of the 96 and put it in the 93. hooked up the tcu and on the handheld it shows that it's always in 2nd gear. there are no trouble codes. it doesn't engage in gear no matter which gear i select.
in park it doesn't roll and does roll in neutral like normal. watched the selector...
constant pressure will not last on a 4L80 so don't see why it would on a 700R.
on another site (gmt400.com) i received this message,
"...you can wire up the 0411 ecm to control the trans only." but didn't get a reply yet on the question of how to program and wire it up.
took mine in with 260K and was expecting to pay a lot but nothing was wore out. all it needed was an alignment. drives straight and tires are wearing even.

got the electronics in. was almost ready to put in the floor shifter but it was too late. had to get a battery for...
