    I'm a bit confused though...The HX40 AFAIK was for the 8.3(pretty sure my 8.3 had one) so why is the chinese knockoff a T3 when the real one is a T4 ? Was this basically made thise way to use on other apps ??

    FWIW I talked to Peninsular awhile back and they told me the same thing, that I would not like the drivablity of the DB4 and I would be better off having them build me a custom DB2.

    I'd go with teh Olset. I agree with you about the GM3. I did not know what your factory one was but I would not knock a GM8 so quickly. It's not a bad turbo but I also really like the Holset. I know someday one of the electronics gurus here could probably come up with a way to use the factory...

    Problem with those Old 2 strokes was they had no low end torque so you needed a driver that knew how to driv eone. You didn't dare stop at a light on a hill with 40 ton on your back or you'd twist the driveshaft right out. Nope had to time your lights well and walk it...

    yeah BK is right, I learned the hard way. There is atleast two different ones and the bolts are different. I chucked it on my 93 as I had a lift and no longer needed it.
