Ted's trucks

From what I understand about the 6.2 and 6.5 is that the crank journal sizes can vary, what I`ve read as select bearing fitting. be sure to plastiguage each bearing and also do not polish or grind the crankshaft, I`ve also read that these have a special coating on the bearing surfaces and if it is ground away, the cranking shaft will not last.
Please, someone, correct me if I am wrong.

Well, dont apply same bearings and filtration rules from gas to diesel. Most everything else is the same.

Knowing quirks of the individual engine helps like always.

I wasn't saying that about the rules, I was refering to wrench turning and basic engine rebuild skills. If you've successfully swapped out a camshaft in say, a 351 Ford, you possess the basic skills to successfully do the same with a 6.5. Yes, there are peculiarities with our specific engines as far as procedures, clearances, torques, etc., but every engine has those. Jus' sayin'. No harm, no foul.

Gapless rings- big advantage is stopping soot from getting into oil as easy, and keeping compression good longer.

No flat tappets here. Roller lifters.

@Husker6.5 - yeah, guess I was focused on small detail at the time. Yes, if a person can be inside any v6 or v8 engine, this one is very doable.

Well tore into the old engine did a leak down of all cylinders number 2 cylinder air is going into crankcase all rockers on passenger side are lose and all but 3 lifters are exploded glad i got a new motor waiting on it to come in

Got my teds trucks 6.5l and wow they diis a great job on it for me

Care to elaborate on all the stuff they did for you? I know they didn't just ship you an engine... :woot:

I had them install head studs seals and gaskets. I was thinking about pulling the heads and checking cylinders for rust but idk cause it turns so smooth and from the bottom it still has the cross hatchs it also has 50 psi and idle for oil psi and 535 on cylinder compression and 2 cylinders are at 530 as you can tell it looks like this motor hasnt ever really been ran?
