Ok so I came across a thread on another forum that mentioned a condition (mostly 1/2 ton drivers) that had an issue with the frame bouncing over the concrete sections of freeway. Some reported it was so bad they couldnt talk without it sounding like they were getting bounced up and down.

Anyways. I was looking into it. GM has a Campaign #PIT3009J that was released regarding this. It only applies to Ext and Crew cabs, not Regular Cabs and its been called "Frame Beaming". Apparently they did some research on this and came up with a new ear body mount setup. Long Story short, I ordered them and installed them last night. Damn! it actually makes a difference. Below is the test pasted from the GM Campaign.

i know this was a big complaint with the 1500 trucks, but I think us 2500/3500 guys just assume thats how these are supposed to ride? I dont know. but I am extremely happy now. I have the Bilstein's and Sulastics from Nor-Cal Truck, and now this. Still a truck, but smooth and controlled like it should be.

I installed mine last night and I am very impressed. If you have any questions or info, post up.

I didnt give it a chance. Received them yesterday, installed them last night with a floor jack and 4x4 post in about 45 minutes. I also installed the insulator for the front body mounts as I was getting a popping noise up there. All quiet and smooth now.

what year models will this work on?

I'd like to change the front isolators as well because I get a popping noise also...but it is only on left turns and braking (odd) I've brought it into the shop a couple times and no one can find the popping cause...this may be it...

From what I have found, it applies to all GMT-800's (ie. 2001-2007 classic).
The isolator/insulator is basically a flat thin plastic washer that goes between the upper body mount and the frame bracket. I assume its to allow the body mount to move a little without binding or sticking (hence causing the pop).
I also noticed mine when braking turning left usually into a driveway or something similar. No more noise now. I'll be leaving tomorrow on a 600 mile trip towing a 8000# trailer. So if it doesn't come back after that, I am going to assume its all good.

Body Mount Insulator GM Part # 15899719 (~$2.50 each) One needed per side. Some have mentioned they have the same pop noise from other body mounts. So you may need more. But most likely its just the front mounts under the A pillar.

I ordered mine through PartsZone Online along with a few other things. They seem to have better shipping rates than what I've seen on GMPartsDirect.

I'll see if I can find the GM article for this.

I did this about a month ago and it cut my passenger seat "shake" by about 90%. Truck is much smoother and dialed in nicely with my Sulastics and Monroe Reflex shocks.

I got it all(what you ordered) for $133 through gmpartsdirect shipped

thanks for all the part #'s and help :)

    Justin,

the only thing really messed up is the isolators($2ea)...the other "fix" is really a ride preference... if you didn't know it was supposed to be better you wouldn't even realize it...I would guess after climbing out of an old 3500 and into a new(er) 3500 you would be thinking they are a cadillac...and that's without the body mount fix...JMHO ;)
