What games do you play when camping?
Our favorite is "Washers" we built an 18" by 18" wooden box with a 3" pipe in the center that you throw 2" washers at, you score one in the box, three in the pipe and your openents washers cancel yours out.

One person sits on the top of a hill with a flashlight. An object is placed no less than 5 feet but no more than 8 feet away. I typically use a football.

No one is to use any light besides the "it" person on the top of the hill.

The rest of the people have a "base" where they all start, usually, about 50 feet away. When the it person says "GO!" the it people run towards the "it" person trying to grab the object.

The way people get out is for the "it" person to shine the light on the people trying to get the ball. The "it" person then has to call out their name, if everyone is good friends, or their clothes (e.g. Brown jacket with camo pants!).

THE IT PERSON WILL ONLY TURN THE FLASHLIGHT ON FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME TO IDENTIFY THE PERSON!! NO SCANNING!!

When the person gets out, they have to go back to the base.

The game continues until one of the people touches the object. The person who grabbed the object is now the "it" person, and the game restarts.

Take two 18" wide by 48" long pieces of plywood, place three evenly spaced 4" holes down the lengths of them, now place them 12 ' apart end to end. Each player throws 2.5" washers (total of three) at the boards trying to put them in the holes. Score the closest hole as one, the middle hole as two and the farthest as three. First player/team to get to 21 wins. We put eyelets in the end of ours and tied a piece of clothesline between them for quick set up. I almost forgot, we also used out door carpet on the boards, it slows the washers down it a bit and they don't just bounce off of the board.

No real games we play camping. Our big thing around the campfire at night is usually karaoke. About an hour or so after we all come around the fire, and we have been drinking since about noon (well some of us at least), we break out the Sirius on my work radio, turn on the 70's channel or 80's channel and we start belting out the tunes. Good times. Our one friend, Cliff, is the ring leader of all of us when it comes to the singing. He'll break out the Sangria, homemade of course, and thats when it all goes down hill. Singing wise at least. The fun is out of this world.

Bolo golf, there are two stands that you place 10' to 15' apart, there are three rungs on each stand, each player has three bolos (a 12" piece of rope with a golf ball tied to each end) you thrw the bolos at the stands trying to wrap them around one of the rungs. Top rung is 1pt, middle rung is 2 pt's and bottom rung is 3 pt's. Play to 21.

That is always a camp favorite. Also easy to play that game at home sitting on the deck in the summer time.

It's played in many countries, in many languages and with many types of alcohol with minimal physical exertion. Still not as fun as Kid's game,"hide the sausauge";)

The only game that I know with that name IS NOT played with kids, or other guys. Atleast for me. Of course that could be a really fun game if you get alot of people involed following the two rules posted above.

CORN HOLE (let the smart comments start). Two 2'x4' boards set about 20' apart. Each board is made to sit at a slight angle. ( I think the back side of the boards sit about 12" higher than the front sides) Four players, two on each team, and you throw bags filled with corn to the opposite board that has a 6" hole towards the back of the board. Poor mans horse shoes.

We play this game too but we call it bean bag toss, we covered the 2'x4' board with plexi glass so the bags would slide more. I will admit you had me worried there, corn hole sounds like a game played in prison.
