    Default 94 Chevy Crew Cab 4x4 Dually

    I called the guy and got some info from him.

    Truck has ~150,000 on it and had a GM Crate engine when he bought it. Soon after he bought it he was gettin coolant in the oil and immediately bought a reman 506 engine (i assume this because he said it required HO oil pump). After he pulled the old engine he realized the head gaskets where bad, everything else is fine. Went ahead and put the reman in and has the Pull Out for sale.

    After he got a running engine he took it for a drive and the CEL came on, he went to clear it and was told the IP was bad (maybe PMD he doesn't know what PMD is). After that he said the truck stopped shifting right and sometimes wont come out of 1st but he can shut it down and start back up and be fine.

    I want a newer 96 and up so I pass this to everyone here.

    You get the long block with it!

    Thats a good deal, although someone put the wrong bumper on it, obviously not knowing it was different. Maybe it was replaced because of accident that also led to engine replacement. And lack of air to the filter probably led to head gaskets blowing.

    He says the engine was original that he took out but the sticker on the valve cover says otherwise.

    Does the air from the snorkles go to air filter?

    Yes and no
    They just bring more air in behind the grill and core support which is where the air intake is. They don't directly "funnel" air into the air filter.

    Lots of air is scooped up by the bumper cutouts. Then directed by the special plastic pan just behind the bumper with the one PIA door for oil cooler line changes.

    Hard work the factory cooling system is not up to it. Reducing the amount of air from the bumper... Lets hope this truck did not work hard.

    I have a blown 6.5 that lack of cooling was the cause.
    Not enough room in sig for all the stuff I have that LeroyDiesel.com sells.

    From what I could see it looks in good shape for a 94
    98 GMC Suburban 2500 6.5 4x4 235,000 mi, FS2500, new timing chain, gears, Fluidamper & remote PMD, braided stainless oil cooler lines

    96 GMC 6.5 Suburban 1500 4x4 240,000 mi; Amsoil bypass & remote transmsision filters

    got the same truck with the same trans issue... mines got a gasser front bumper... dont run hot though even towing... been meaning to change it though gotta find a deal on one first bumper may cause the limp mode on the trans though...

    The 97 c&c in my sig has a gasser bumper. It broke a piece of exhaust valve and pounded it into the piston and cylinder wall. It WILL have nostrils when it gets a engine.
