    Default What type of fuel line should I use from Tank

    I am planning to replace my rubber fuel lines that come off of the tank. What type of line should I use? Is it just regular fuel line? Also does anybody know what size line and what length I will need so I can go ahead and get it ahead of time? Thanks

    I would try and check some salvage/recycle yards for them.

    I heard LMC truck but I could never find them on there. There was a few sites that will custom make them. Forget the dealer, crazy cray money for the same crap. Could probably get a good hose shop to make them. I never did mine but they were on the to do list and when I priced them from GM from IP to Tank was like 500$.

    right now I'm just planning to do the rubber lines from the tank to where they connect to the hard lines. I was planning to just buy some of the right rubber hose and some clamps and replace the rubber part.

    SAE30R6 should work, regualar fuel line. But I think 30R9 is like viton, withstand full bio and other harsher stuff. I have 30R7 is what local NAPA had.

    Auto zone has a nice Good year hose. Its thier fuel injection hose with a blue plastic liner. You can get cheaper hose if you look, but if you need it quick its real good hose.
    Also, I do offer the correct barbs for the job you are doing. One is 16mm Oring seal and the return is 14mm oring. Very special/unique fittings. The same as my LP bypass kit, but one of each size (16mm &14mm).

    That picture helps a lot. I didn't know those lines fad fittings that were threaded on. I plan to do this job today or tomorrow, what do you think my chances are of finding those barb fittings locally? Also do you know what size those 2 hoses are?

    I make those fittings, so I don't think you will find them. They are a metric fitting that in itself is hard to find then they are also made to seal with an oring (not like a pipe thread). Like I said above "very unique".

    Supply is 3/8" return is 5/16"

    You can get a little pipe cutter for $5, flaring kit for $20 and some hose clamps for a couple bucks.

    You can hit the local boneyards and get the correct size male and female fittings with steel tubing and rubber hose attached from C-B-O-P-C EFI passenger cars and trucks, '80's-'90's rwd\fwd, incl Astro\Safari vans - the fuel piping is identical to the 6.5, the selection is almost unlimited - wrenches, hacksaw, tubing cutter, knife will getcha whatcha want and letcha customize it to fit - and it is fuel hose, suitable for less harsh Diesel fuel - try it, you'll like it..............

    Taking things apart to install my Walbro and prefilter, and doing FTB, I noticed that the guys that installed my auxiliary fuel tank just cut the factory fuel line and pushed the hose right over that and clamped it down. Its been that way for like 10 years.

    So $20 flare kit not even necessary I guess, but would be better still.

    The factory lines are 3/8" steel. In low pressure fuel like this, many people have used brass compression fittings, to a barb or something. Since steel is much harder than copper Ive seen people use mini saw blade to make slight notch around fuel line for compression ring to bite into. This is probably not good for off roaders though, more shock and vibe.

    Thats why PMDCABLE's fittings are so good, just use hose and clamps on those,and do your thing.

    In a jam you need a stocker LP you can just hook it up.
